David Muth is a London based musician, programmer and artist with a background in architecture. He collaborates with various art collectives, and has been a member of art group and new media agency Soda since 2000. His work has been shown internationally, including exhibitions / performances at the Wroclaw Media Arts Biennale (Poland 2005), the Kiasma Museum of Modern Art in Helsinki (2004), and the Musée d’Art Contemporain in Montreal (2001). David also lectures at the Royal College of Art and Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication.

“We are Car”, a recent collaboration with Chris Lum aka XperXr, utilised a running motorbike engine controlled via MIDI as a musical instrument in order to record and subvert selected Rock classics, exploring parallels between emotional thrills induced by acceleration, speed and Rock. Other excursions into the world of Rock and Pop led to releases on Satellite Records as member of band Karamasov, and to the formation of pseudo-pop band Omo together with Berit Immig in 2004.

Bringing together both programming and music making, David has been undertaking research on using computer simulated physics as playful audio controllers, work that he presented at NIME03 (New Interfaces of Musical Expression) at the McGill University in Montreal (2003), and recently gave a talk on at the Spark Festival of Electronic and Art in Minneapolis.
