David laughing told me that at the Minneapolis conference where he had just been speaking, artists were presenting Max patches calling them scores.

“But they are thought aren’t they? I mean combined with the Java interfaces you’ve made to play or access them, they are surely just a set of instructions to do certain things at certain times with sound. Isn’t that what a score is?”
